Balance

BalanceSo far this year I’ve enjoyed a pretty cruisy lifestyle with plenty of time. It has been great to get my work done and still have plenty of time for leisure activities and other various things I am involved in. Only problem? It is January, the ONLY time of year when youth ministry is slow.

I have just started to feel a slow pick up occuring and am having to start to put things in place to make sure I keep a good ‘balance’ this year. Right now I pretty much have every night free but once small group, youth group and other various programs start up again my free nights will dwindle. I also currently easily get a day (well more at the moment) off a week but soon it will become easy to work more and so i am working on making sure I put time aside for myself.

Another area I am having to pay attention to is my gardening business and blog, AussieGreenThumb. I am starting to pick up more customers and so spending more time out and about doing that. Also, to start the year I had a lot of content written to make the first month easy but now I need to start writing some more content for February and onwards. It is very easily to spend a number of hours doing this but I am trying to limit this to 4-5 hours a week.

All in all I am enjoying being back in paid youth ministry. My mind is often buzzing with thoughts and idea’s and I am very excited about the year to come!
